The style of lettering can greatly enhance the finished appearance of a memorial. Originally all lettering was created by hand cutting each character. Nowadays a lot of lettering, especially on granites, is sandblasted using a computer designed and cut rubber stencil.
We specialise in sandblast memorial lettering, and offer a wide range of fonts that come in various styles and sizes enabling you to create a truly unique memorial, gravestone or headstone.
Hand cut, machine cut, or traditional lead lettering to match that on existing memorials is also available.
Some styles of lettering are not appropriate for certain finishes and some finishes are not suitable for certain stones.

We provide a layout and design service.
The layout is computer generated to show the shape of memorial, style of font and any design, ornamentation or photos chosen and to make sure Names and Dates are correct etc. The layout can be amended any number of times until you the client are absolutely 100% happy with your choice only then is it cut into stone.
Different types of stone lead to a variety of letter finishes.
Letters can be finished in a number of ways. With regard to Churchyards this would usually be painted but can be left unpainted.
Generally, letters are incised and painted with enamel, with black, white or silver being the most popular colours. A dark granite memorial lends itself to cut and gilded lettering. With some memorials letters may be cut and left natural.
